Downloading and Installing TeraTerm Pro SSH on Your Computer

Downloading TeraTerm Pro SSH

  1. Before you can install and use TeraTerm Pro SSH, you must first download it. To download the application, click here. You must have a University Directory ID and Password.
  2. Once you click on the download link, your browser may ask you what to do with the file. If it does, select "Save to disk" and click on OK.
  3. It will then ask you where you want to save the file. Select Desktop so it is easier to remember where you stored the file. Click OK.
  4. Now, your browser will start downloading the program. This may take a while if you have a slow connection.
  5. Once the program has been downloaded, you will see an icon for it on your desktop.

Installing TeraTerm Pro SSH

  1. Double click on icon named TTSSHSetup to launch the installation.
  2. Click Next on the welcome screen.

  3. Please read the License Agreement then check I accept the agreement. Click Next.

  4. To use the default installation directory for TeraTerm Pro SSH click Next. Otherwise type the desired directory then click Next.

  5. To use the default Start Menu group click Next. Otherwise type the desired name then click Next.

  6. Check the box Create a desktop icon then click Next.

  7. Review the installation settings. If everything is acceptable click Install.

  8. Once the installation is complete click Finish. The program will start automatically if Launch TeraTerm Pro SSH was left checked.

Using TeraTerm Pro SSH

  1. Double-click the program icon labled TeraTerm Pro SSH either on the Desktop or in the Start Menu.
  2. You will see something similar to the following screen:

  3. Use the drop-down list to choose either WAM, Glue, or Deans and click OK.
  4. If you get a security warning click Accept and Save. These messages sometimes appear when you run TeraTerm Pro SSH for the first time. You will then see the screen below:

    On this screen, you need to type in your userid in the User Name field and your password in the Passphrase field.
  5. Click OK to activate the connection.
