Summary:
This device would suit most users campus-wide. While it may be
pricey at just under $300, the e-mail, calendaring and web
applications would prove extremely useful to help with personal
organization. Even though only faculty and staff access the
campus calendaring system, the Palm desktop software makes it easy to
enter and synchronize personal calendars which can include everything from
classes to meetings, as well as allowing assignments to be tracked with
the To Do List. The added functionality of mp3 playing capability
may also be a plus for those wishing to consolidate portable
devices. Overall, the device would provide necessary portable
access to information even though the e-mail functionality is somewhat
limited by the fact that it only receives "new" messages.
