UNIX: Troubleshooting Zephyr (znol) problems

In some situations, people will show up via the znol command as still logged on, even when they've successfully logged off of a WAM or Glue system. For example, a user logs off one of the RACS (like RAC9), then their friend (who has their userid in their "~/.anyone" file) types:

    znol

They'll see something like:

    USERID: rac9.wam.umd.edu 18 Tue Apr 27 13:29:03 1999

where USERID is the persons WAM userid. If you check RAC9, there is no login for USERID, and no processes owned by USERID.

To fix this, place the command:

    zctl flush_locs

in their "~/.logout.mine" file. After this, whenever they logout their Zephyr entries will be cleared properly.
