Sending Attachments with Outlook Express

When sending an e-mail in Outlook Express, you have many added features and options. One of these is the ability to send and receive attachments.

  1. The first thing to do is to have Outlook Express open, and be working on an e-mail.
  2. As usual, fill out the TO:, SUBJECT, and the message body. When you are done composing the message, follow the steps below to attach a file.

  3. Look for the "Paper Clip" Icon and/or the word "Attach" on the toolbar. If you do not see this icon, go to the top most menu toolbar and click INSERT -> FILE ATTACHMENT.

  4. A window should come up that shows a directory on your computer. It is now time to find the file you want to send as an attachment. Go through your hard drive and when you find the file double click on it. Keep in mind that you can send more then one attachment, but there is a 3 MB limit on the size of these files.

  5. Once you have selected the files you want to send, their file name should show up in a new field in the message header.
