Important: Please follow all steps to ensure proper installation
Uninstalling an Existing VPN Client
If you have a VPN client currently installed on your computer, it is necessary to remove it to avoid potential conflicts.
If you do not have a prior VPN installation, go to Installing VPN Client 5.x on Windows Vista
- To uninstall your product, first terminate any VPN connection and exit the program.
- From the Start
Menu go to Control Panel and select Programs and Features.
- Highlight your current VPN software in the program list.
- An Uninstall option will appear in the menu
above the program list (see figure below).
- Click Uninstall (you will be prompted with instructions on how to remove the program)
- Restart your computer when the process has completed.

Installing VPN Client 5.x On Windows Vista
- Quit all programs that may be currently running.
- Click on the
VPNVista.exe

to download the VPN Client
- Open the downloaded file.

- You may be asked to run this as the Administrator - if so, use the mouse to right-click the file
- Click the left mouse button on Run as Administrator.
- You may see the warning message below - if so, click Yes to continue.

- Another potential warning message may pop up from Vista warning that an unidentified program wants access.
Click Allow to proceed.
- When the WinZip Self-Extractor program appears, click on Unzip to extract the installation files to
C:\Users\[Your User Name*]\AppData\Local\Temp
- *Your User Name refers to the name you use to login to your computer
- Click OK for confirmation of the unzipped files. You will receive a notice that 2 files were unzipped
successfully.
- Double-click the Computer icon and navigate to:
C:\Users\[Your User Name]\AppData\Local\Temp
- Open the following file:
vpnclient-win-msi-5.0.00.0340-k9.exe**.
- It will most likely be at the bottom of a long list of items. You may
have to Run as Administrator (see Step 3 above).
- **The version number may vary slightly with subsequent updates

- Click Unzip to extract the files and begin the installation process.
- Click OK.
- Click Next on the installation window.
- Read then accept the license agreement by selecting the I accept button
- Click Next.
- Click Next again. The installation process will begin.
- When installation is successful, a window will appear.
- Click Finish.
- Click Yes to restart your computer to finish the installation process
- The VPN client will be ready to use once you have restarted your computer.
