You can configure Microsoft Entourage to use the University Directory ID and Pasword to access your mail account on Glue or Deans systems.
To do this, follow the steps below:
Click the Entourage icon to launch the program.

-
Once Entourage has launched, select Tools from the
top
toolbar and click on Accounts.

-
When the Accounts window appears, click on the
Mail tab so it is selected; then click
the New button above the Mail tab.

-
A New Account window will appear. At the Account
type: drop-down menu, select either IMAP or POP.
IMAP is strongly recommended.

-
The Edit Account window will appear.
In the Account name: field, type a name that you will use to
identify the account. This can be helpful if you have several accounts in
Entourage and need to differentiate between them. For example, a name like
UMD will be sufficient.
In the Name: field, type your name, as you would like
people
to see it when they receive mail from you.
-
Type your e-mail address in the Email Address: field.
-
Type your Directory ID in the field labeled Account ID:
.
-
In the IMAP server: field, type in the appropriate incoming
mail server for your account. If your e-mail account is a:
- Glue account, use imap.glue.umd.edu
- Deans account, use imap.deans.umd.edu
-
If you would like Entourage to
remember your password so you do not have to enter it each time
you
check your mail, enter it in the Password box, and check
Save password in my MAC OS Keychain box.

In the SMTP server field, type in the appropriate outgoing mail
server
for your account:
PLEASE NOTE: If you use an Internet service provider (ISP) other than the
University of Maryland for Internet access, you must use your ISP's SMTP
server instead of one of the servers listed below.
- Glue account, use smtp.glue.umd.edu
- Deans account, use smtp.deans.umd.edu
Click the button that says Click here for
advanced receiving options.
In the small window that appears, check the box that says
This IMAP service requires a secure connection (SSL).
Close the small box.

Click OK to save your settings.
The Accounts window will appear. Click the red circle in
the upper left hand corner to close the window.
