General E-mail Information

E-mail

The term e-mail stands for electronic mail. E-mail is a method by which text-based messages can be sent to users on the same and different computer systems. Most e-mail programs also support attachments that can be sent along with the message. An attachment can be anything from a picture to a movie or just an ordinary text document.

Spam

Spam is what we refer to in the Internet world when someone makes random postings or e-mails to people or newsgroups. Usually, the posting is commercially related but it could be anything. In fact, this is quite illegal within the university mail system
