General E-mail Information
The term e-mail stands for electronic mail. E-mail is a method
by which text-based messages can be sent to users on the same and
different
computer systems. Most e-mail programs also support attachments that can be
sent along with the message. An attachment can be anything from a picture to
a movie or just an ordinary text document.
Spam is what we refer to in the Internet world when someone
makes random postings or e-mails to people or newsgroups. Usually,
the posting is commercially related but it could be anything. In fact,
this is quite illegal within the university mail system

In order to check e-mail, you need a client program. Some examples of
client programs are Mozilla Thunderbird, Outlook Express, and Pine.
