ARES (Administrative Resource Enterprise Services)is located at
http://www.ares.umd.edu/. To access ARES, use Firefox 2.x
or Internet Explorer 6 or higher.
When accessing ARES for the first time, it is a good idea to
download the Maryland Security Certificate. Doing this will
streamline the accessing of ARES. Read the
on-screen prompts carefully; it is recommended that you
accept the Maryland Security Certificate until it expires.
- Click on the Login option on the left side of
the screen to begin using ARES.

You will see a prompt on the right side of the screen asking
for your Directory ID or UID and Directory Password.

After clicking the Login button, you will
see a message indicating that your login is successful.
At this point, any of the options on the left side can be
selected, such as Personal Services to view
information about your records, Financial
Records System to gain access to the FRS system,
or Dept. of Business Services to access
CARS.
