Testudo is more than the official mascot
for the University of Maryland.
Testudo
is also an on-line site where students can
register for classes, obtain financial account information and
more. The web interface is available at:
http://www.testudo.umd.edu.
Logging in to Testudo requires knowledge of your Student
Identification Number and PIN number, received at Orientation.
Students who may have forgotten their PIN number should
contact the Registration
office at 301.314.8240. Students can also log into Testudo by
using their Directory
ID and password.
Once in Testudo, the student will see a variety of Campus related
material in addition to registering for classes, requesting an unofficial
transcript, and the Academic Calendar to name a few. The links
provide the following information:
- Admissions is for
both Undergraduates and Graduates and reenrollment activities. The
student
can even put in for a housing request, transfer credits, and look for
Financial Aid.
- Records &
Registration allows the student to give his or her parents permission
to see their grades (using this site), change the PIN, Drop/Add classes,
waitlist for a class, apply for graduation, and view grades.
- Schedule
of Classes will show the Course listings for one year's worth of
classes (e.g., Spring, Fall, Winter, and Summer). It also shows the
CORE courses, Academic Calendar and Deadlines, and the Examination
Schedule.
- Course
Descriptions can be found via the University Library. Descriptions
can be found for classes at University College, overseas or outside of the
United States, or College Park.
- Financials
Students can inquire about their accounts and pay bills, check into
Financial Aid, and find out the next semester's bill.
- Campus
Services covers issues such as parking, Commuter Affairs, Library
Services, Business Services, Housing, Dining Services, and the Career
Center.
- Residency Classification
which handles appeals for reclassification to in-state students who were
classified as out-of-state.
- Parent
Access allows students to grant parents or their legal guardian
limited access to their student information.
- Academic
Calendar shows the academic calendar for four years of classes.
- USM tells about the University
System of Maryland and it's eleven degree-granting and research
institutions.
Short cuts to important information are posted on the front page of
Testudo in addition to the links just discussed. Timely information is
