You can configure Eudora 6.2.x to use the University Directory service to find the correct e-mail address for a faculty/staff member of the university when you are composing an e-mail message. To do this, follow the steps below:

  1. Launch Eudora. On the menu bar, click on Special, then choose Settings.

    Settings

  2. Click on the Hosts icon. In the Ph/LDAP Server: field, type in ldap://directory.umd.edu/dc=umd,dc=edu

    Hosts

  3. Click the OK button. Eudora is now set up to use the Directory service.

To begin using the service, click on the Window menu and select Directory Services. Type in the full name of the University person you are searching for in the Enter query field. Click the Lookup button. Once you have found the person you are looking for, click the To: button at the bottom of the page to begin composing a message.
