Wireless Network Registration

Connect to the wireless network by selecting the umd-secure setting (see Connecting to the Wireless Network for specific information). Once this setting has been chosen a authentication page will open where you must identiry yourself. Use your Directory ID and Password to authenticate yourself to the wireless network. This process allows OIT to better secure the wireless service on campus and to provide a wide variety of options for University faculty, staff, students, and guests.

Note that wireless network registrations only remain effective for one day.

Your Directory ID is used to log in to an increasing number of on-line systems at the University. Your Directory ID is also an e-mail address that will forward mail to an account that you specify. The forwarding information is visible on the ID discovery page detailed below.

If you are unsure of what it is, you can use the ID discovery tool at http://directory.umd.edu/cgi-bin/chpwd?searchbyumid to find out what your ID is.

If you need additional assistance, the Office of Information Technology (OIT) Help Desk can help.
