OWL labs: Open Workstation Labs

OWL Labs Definition

All public computer labs on campus are OWL Labs. They are owned and maintained by the department in which the lab resides, but they receive significant subsidies from OIT in exchange for being available to everyone on campus and maintaining a lab-assistance staff to help users. OIT does not offer direction on what is available in the labs, as they do for the WAM Labs, so they tend to have a wide variety of software and hardware. Most labs charge 10 cents a page for printouts, but how they collect it varies. Find out more information about OWL Labs.
