ARES Definition

ARES stands for Administrative Resource Enterprise Services. This web page is primarily used by faculty, staff, and students employed at the University.

An ARES account is automatically created for each new employee in order for him/her to access the menu item under Personal Services on the main ARES page.

Sub-system access, however, does require the user to go through an application process which is done on-line. Each sub-system has its own application process via a link on the sub-system's main page, which describes the steps necessary to get access to a sub-system on ARES.

Services currently available via ARES include:

  • Ability to update one's own personal information
  • Access to financial reports through the Financial Records System Website (FRS)
  • Access to purchasing information through the Procurement Web System (PRO Web)
  • Access to the Department of Business Services Customer Automated Response System (CARS), which includes TRavel APPRoval (TRAPPR).
  • Access to the Department of Payroll and Human Resources

Employees connect to the ARES system using a web browser where they will be prompted to enter their Directory ID and password.
