Here is a list of settings you should track on your Macintosh
machine:
-
Network settings such as TCP/IP settings and network
identification information.
-
Any settings for your e-mail client (like the Mail application or
Thunderbird), such as the IMAP server and SMTP server.
-
Any passwords you need to use programs or to access files.
-
Apple computers are more forgiving than PC's when dealing with hardware
configuration. It is, however, a good idea to take note of
settings before
changing anything.
A good practice is to save any documentation or software relating to your
computer's hardware because you may need to use it again in the future.
